James Wilson brings fresh insight and innovative spirit to The Wilson Law Firm with international experience and a unique commitment to law since the profession runs in the Wilson family.

James has successfully argued before before the Supreme Court of Georgia. The case turned on a procedural issue with international aspects – service on US citizens while in a foreign nation not party to the Hague Convention.

Update: James M. Wilson is now Staff Attorney to Chief Judge David P. Darden, in the State Court of Cobb County.

Having graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law, James managed to accumulate a great deal of accomplishments into his educational experience. His achievements include serving as the Managing Editor of The Journal of Intellectual Property Law, and acting as a “Dean’s Ambassador,” representing the school for incoming and potential students as well as being a liaison for alumni.  He was a Law School Association Scholar.

He studied several aspects of International Law and WTO Policy in  China, at Beijing’s Tsinghua University and Shanghai’s Fudan University. His professional legal experience include assisting in starting Bhutan’s first law school by co-authoring a textbook for the school as well as doing legal research and communications with governmental agencies to ensure the success and sustainability of the institution. You can read more about that on page eight of this edition of The Atlanta Lawyer.

James has many passions and pastimes, including a love for the outdoors that started with his involvement in the Boy Scouts, where he achieved the rank of Eagle. He presently enjoys trail running and fly fishing. He also loves playing guitar and building websites, a skill he developed as he obtained a Certificate of Computer Science in 2012.
