Auto Accidents

More than 30,000 people are killed each year in US auto accidents, any over 1.5 million are injured, as a result of over 6.3 million police-reported vehicle crashed. The good news is that these numbers are generally declining thanks to safer cars, better use of seat belts, slower average speeds, and better drivers. We all need be as careful as we can, but accidents do happen.

We help our clients both when they injured because of someone else’s fault and when they may be charged as a result of an accident.

We have handled literally hundred of automobile accident cases, recovering many millions of dollars on behalf of our clients. Some cases are very large, with very serious injuries, but many are much smaller, involving sore backs, pain in the neck, and other injuries from which our clients ultimately fully recover. We understand both extremes and are happy to help our clients in either type of case to understand their rights and maximize their recovery.

Representative Case:

Hemphill v. Reagin et. al.: This was a wrongful death motor vehicle action against a 16 year old and her family. The defendant admitted her liability, but plead poverty with minimal insurance limits. By careful factual investigation, we were able to establish liability to her step-father, under a family purpose doctrine, such as to obtain an insurance recovery under his homeowners’ policy and a mid-six figure recovery to our client’s family.
